So I found this Ram 1500 it's a 2021 lone star and has 54k miles on it. They listed it at 27k. I am trading in my current vehicle for this car. They are running the numbers for me online. I wanted advice if this is a good deal? Will the truck last me. I've always been a sports car kind of guy but my girlfriend insists I get a truck. Always loved the way rams looked and how they have a good kick of speed like a sports car would. I know absolutely nothing about trucks though.
Any advice before I go through with this would be amazing. Do I keep looking or jump on this?

Carfax, maintenence records, kelley blue book, bring a handheld scanner, etc.

Unless it looks immaculate, you got plenty of room to negotiate a lower price. IMO!

Most will advise that it’s a plus if it doesn’t have eTorque on the engine. You might also want to inquire as to if the truck has any history of rear window sealing leaks and if they have been addressed. Also if it has any transferable extended warranty. If well maintained in good shape a 2022 should be a good truck.

Edit: Opps, meant 2021.

If you want a truck to simulate a sports car you'll need to get a regular cab. No back seat. No distractions. Just you and your lady.

As stated above, check with Carfax. Rear window and shark fin antenna leaking has been an issue with some, not all of the 1500s, but enough for it to be something you want to verify. The RF hub is behind the rear seat and the leaking water can destroy it. Not to mention water damage to interior materials.

I’ve had a 2019 non eTorque and currently have a 22 eTorque. I personally don’t have an issue with the eTorque but the non eTorque 19 was “snappier” and more responsive. And, while I personally don’t have an issue with the eTorque, I would agree a non eTorque truck holds a better value.

if you’re accustomed to sports cars; the ride is going to feel soft and the handling is going to take you a while to get used to. These trucks are not known for their turning radius. Parking them can be a bit of a challenge sometimes.

Totally agree with this. Another metric you may want to consider is whether or not there is any overt indication that other people are looking at this vehicle hard. If not, take your time.

I can say that some "sports cars" have a worse turning radius than a 1500. My 95 C4 Corvette has a worse radius then my 2019 Crew Cab, but of course takes up a smaller parking space. :D

Ladies love outlaws. Get yourself a truck and you're an outlaw. Long story how we went from a Ford Courier, GMC S-15, Toyota Tacoma, and everything in-between to a 2013 Regular Cab RAM 1500. But when we decided to go with a regular cab, the wife said right-off-the bat to go with a RAM. She said the RAM's head on the hood of the truck looked "bully". Her word for "macho" and "rugged". I said "Why not?"
