2020 Ram 3500 Fuel Filter Cap

Has anyone had to replace the rear diesel fuel filter cap? The cap is made of hardened plastic and through numerous fuel filter changes the cap will get worn and some of the ears will start to crack. Is this a common issue?

How many fuel filter changes could you possibly have on your 2020? Use the correct size 6 point socket and there will be not rounded off corners.
It's 28mm not 29mm and not 1 1/8" either.

I know you can get the cap as a service part. But I also know I had to go and buy a special socket for it as well, cause I didnt have one..its an odd ball size.

I know you can get the cap as a service part. But I also know I had to go and buy a special socket for it as well, cause I didnt have one..its an odd ball size.

Its 28 MM, many people just use an SAE 1-1/8 that is how the top nut gets rounded off because they don't use MM socket or wrench
