Well hell knock on wood I've had no issues with my dpf it regens when it needs to.
I'm one those that does have the truck idling often, at times when I know I'll be over 10-15 minutes of idleing I will bump the idle rpm up higher.
If I run into town for something minor it will be 8-15 mile trip on rural roads, max 55 mph some of it less, then 5-15 minutes idling it it'shot for the AC or if it's cold for the heat.

All those type trucks around here are gas not diesel. Most likely to avoid those problems.

I suspect that is why UPS delivery trucks are predominantly gas.

Thank you for your response. I ended up removing and cleaning the DPF canister at the local DPF cleaning service. Cost $350. It took two baking sessions. I reinstalled it and drove the truck and all the codes disappeared. One must monitor DPF filter gauge. Thanks to this forum I can do my own forced regen if necessary or until I install a delete kit. I guess Dodge sells the US government the same trucks without all the emissions. Funny how that is.

So one must monitor the DPF gauge? My truck doesn't even have one. Over the last 7 years and 80k miles I don't know if my truck has ever done a regen. If it has I have never noticed.
Perhaps it's because every time we go to town it is a minimum 160 mile round trip on the highway. I also tow heavy about 4-5 times a year so I'm sure that has something to do with it.
Use a diesel as intended and will probably not have any trouble.
