Sat down with a dealer who would talk about ordering. As stated earlier, Harvest Sunrise is new this year and Walnut Brown is gone. All options seem to be the same as 2021 that the dealer could tell. Ram is taking sold orders only, so the dealer said.

There are so many SOLD ORDERS waiting to be built
Just guessing, It may be XMAS before the dealers have any 2022 Ram 1500s on the lot

Ram is trying to build 1,400 per day

The 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry edition will start at $41,780 MSRP (plus destination fee). The new off-road pickup will increase the versatility of the Ram 1500 series, furthering its success. It will be available in the fall of 2021.Jul 30, 2021

Ditto as long as they shove that 12 inch screen in them :Big Laugh:

Yea, I don't see that happening. They want to keep that for the Rebel side I guess. They already use the Rebel style grill on the Classics, why not give us more?

Anybody know a ballpark of how many Ram Classics were sold in 2020?

IDK actual 2020 numbers, but my Classic ('21 Warlock) was sold in 2021.

Warren Michigan where the Classics are built was building Rams at a rate of 1400 per day a few years back

It takes about 16 hours to build a Ram

Stellantis as of last March at SHAP
Stellantis is reportedly bringing back a controversial policy that would have skilled trade workers doing 12 hour days for 7 days a week as a way to maximize shift coverage. The original arrangement had staff pushing long hours only to be rewarded with a full week off. But it was temporarily nixed after workers complained about the schedule and fretted over how the change might impact benefits. An alternative schedule prioritizing flexibility was created, though the automaker (still owned by FCA at the time) stressed that it needed more tradespeople working on the weekends to help avoid production gaps.

I also like the Classic looks. Good to see it will still be around. Was thinking my 2021 might be the last of it's kind for a while. Obviously it's still very popular for Ram to justify having both 4th & 5th gens at the same time. I wonder how sales numbers of the two styles compare.

Looks promising!

This is by far the longest lived RAM/Dodge pickup ever produced. Amazing run!

"For those looking to get into a budget-friendly truck, the Ram Classic has also been confirmed to live on through the 2022 model year. It might be an aging machine, but customers aren’t quite ready to let it go yet it seems."

Hope to see it on the ramtruck website soon too!
It's a shame that the new pile get's all the attention. In my opinion, It's ugly and looks like every other truck out there. That's why i like the classic. It has style. Trying to find a regular cab hemi in floriduh is hard. might have to go out of state

I think the reason they keep the 'Classic' around is partly because they can concentrate building the 5th gens in the most profitable format possible w/o reinvesting in new tooling for 5th gen reg cab and lower margin fleet (Tradesman) vehicles. And of course people keep buying the 4th gens too in pretty good volume, which I suspect even the factory is kind of surprised by. That basically gives Ram two models of trucks to choose from. Kind of like Chevy and GMC only more unique. Hence they can continue to capture marketshare.

4th gen ram owners will really benefit down the road. There'll be a tremendous aftermarket for parts for a long time to come. This might be the longest production model run truck ever.

I see from the article linked above that the new 2022 Classic has an available off-road package.

Tradesman Off-Road Package (AN4)
• Rear heavy-duty shock absorbers (SGD)
• Yokohama brand tires (TZY)
• Anti-spin differential rear axle (DSA)
• LT265/70R17E BSW All-Terrain tires (TTB)
• Full-size spare tire (TBB)
• Tow hooks (XEA)
• Transfer case skid plate (XEF)
• Front suspension skid plate (XEU)
• Raised Ride Height (XZN)
• 3.92 rear axle ratio (DMH)

My 2021 Classic alread has all of the Off-Road Pacakage options except for the 3.92 gears and Raised Ride Height. I don't care for the 3.92 gears but I sure would like the factory raised ride height. I can't even drive my 4X4 up on service ramps because the spoiler under the bumper hits the ramps before the wheels do. What is a field of corn stalks going to do that plastic spoiler?

Anyways, I wonder of you could buy the Raised Ride Height parts and retrofit them to a 2021 model.

What do you think?

Probably be more economical to get an aftermarket lift/level kit.
I agree that the 4th get exterior is better than the 5th gen, with the exception of the 5th gen Rebel. That truck is super smexy!

The offroad package is only 1 inch higher than a stock 4x4. Get some Bilstein 5100s and set them at 2.1 or 2.8 and add a rear 1in or 2in spacer. There's two inches of lift for a few hundred bucks.

I also have a '21 Classic Tradesman 4x4, and have been idly contemplating this question, too. I would think there's a different spring and shock p/n for the Warlock? Wonder if @AllMoparParts.com might be able to figure this out using a VIN from a Warlock and comparing to one from a Tradesman or Express?

@G-Ride990's suggestion just above would almost certainly be the least-expensive way to get there. I'd probably only raise my front, since the back sits plenty high enough for me.

Convert, for now.

The new Classics aren't exactly like my 2019 Classic was, no real door panels or full center console :(

You can PM me your VIN and I will compare it with Warlock components to see if anything differs.

If you remember back a couple of years ago
The last President made a deal with several car manufacturers

Ram had changed the SHAP auto plant from building cars to building the Gen 5 Rams.
As soon as they started making the 5th Gen, they were going to close down the Warren Plant that builds the Ram Classics & update & renovate it. There were then going to move the Heavy Duty Ram manufacturing up to Warren Michigan.
For moving the Heavy Duty plant back into the USA, they were to receive
several things like tax breaks.

I forget what happened to change things, but the Ram Classics plant had updated some equipment & they had not began moving the heavy duty plant up to here.
So it worked out well for FCA & we 4th Gen Ram enthusiasts

This was the news from back then, mostly about the HD Ram plant moving
