Haven't seen much discussion about an "IBS fix". From my own experience, 21 and now 25 Rebel, I believe electronic modules which don't sleep soundly produce parasitic draw, mentioned in post 13, which contributes to the electrical gremlins which plague some of these trucks. My 21 had an intermittent parasitic draw which peaked at about 200mA. Drained one battery. Dealer couldn't find cause. Put it on a trickle charger, no more issues. Granted that doesn't address the cause, but helps avoid the dealership merry-go-round.

I found the term "IBS fix" somewhere while searching for answers to the battery drain problem. It's the small black object referred to as the "IBS sensor" attached to the neg battery terminal.

I was searching for model Ram truck variances and came across a great video of a dealer comparing the 2026 Tundra to the 2026 Ram Hurricane. What caught my attention is when the fella was behind the wheel of the Ram and pointed out the NEW Analog/digital dash cluster. Hmmm.....ok.

Another video was from edmunds.com giving a year end review of the $88,000 Ram 1500 SST H.O. Limited after 16,000 miles. It was driven under various conditions from many of the employees at any time. It was very well liked by all for interior comfort, handling, smooth ride, towing etc. until he got to the end of the video when he spoke about what they DID NOT like. And that was everything we and others here have been discussing. Dash cluster failure, recalls such as the towing loss of lights and brakes (and they towed a lot of different size trailers), battery drain problems multiple times and on and on. The appraised value at the end of one year of ownership was only $56,000!! That's pathetic.

GeauxinUP, I want to thank you for posting the above. I took pics of the screen since I do not know how to print these out so I can take them to my dealership. I have no idea if they know about this or not.
My truck is always making noises like something is adjusting or readjusting like little servo motors or something. Always. Like i read one owner said he was waiting for it to turn into an autobot.

Purchased in September 2025. Traded in a F150 Lariat with 81,000 +/- miles. I had the rear rebuilt, font axle re-greased, cooling system flushed and on and on. Figured I'd trade it while it was all fixed up.

Never been in a Ram but was told to go take a ride. It was awesome. So I traded. I'm regretting it terribly.

From the first several hundred miles til now I've had nothing but problems. Dash cluster went out (dealer stated software update and reboot), Uconnect blanked out a few times for a few seconds (didn't mention to dealer), Truck drained battery and had it towed from my house to dealer, tailgate will not close so at the moment its held shut with a ratchet strap, needs to go in for the trailer tow module replacement. Meanwhile Today truck dead battery again and left me stranded. Called to have it towed but roll back driver couldn't get it into Neutral so he left.

So now I'll call the dealer and tell them they have to come get it. I think I'm going to sit down with the manager of the dealer and tell him I'm not taking that truck home when its fixed again. Gonna have to work out somehting to buy it back.

Am I wrong for feeling this way??

I have no confidence in this truck to go anywhere. I have a trip planned to Canada in September but no way can I trust it

Thanks

Well, I took this info to the dealer this morning and I doubt they took me seriously. I printed the above message out and handed to them.

When I walked in the fella that gets your keys and check ya out said he just heard my name being mentioned with a service tech and a service engineer working on my truck. I told him to give this print out to them and have this done. I explained how mine makes the noises and they've heard anyone describe that before.

On my way home i was called by the tech and he mentioned replacing a large proximity sensor and a software update, Oh boy, here we go again. I specifically told him to do what I handed them at the counter.

I told him I am on this forum and it sounded like this is not taken seriously, is kinda what it felt like to me.

This is interesting. I just received an email from the dealership stating there were parts ordered for my truck. No part numbers just described as "TRANSMITT INTEGRATED" Qty 1

I just looked that description up on line and it came up the actual key Fob??/ hahahaha

Have you tried contacting @RamCares via PM yet?

Their ability to successfully facilitate warranty-related repairs isn't perfect, but there has been several success stories. This is the type of circumstance where they have been known to shine.

Send a PM, include your VIN and a summary of your challenges.
Also mention the note in GeauxinUp's post #25.

Good luck. We're all hoping you find satisfaction with a functional solution.

Ok......I'm embarrassed....how do I now find that message to @RamCares?

This forum is not like others I'm accustomed to in my boating and fishing world where I could find PM's to members

If you have successfully sent the PM and you just want to review or edit it, that's easy.

All these forums likely have a different method for PMs.

Click on the envelope on the upper-right side, next to your username and select Show all.

This should open a new window with all your current PMs. Click on the PM you're interested in and review or select edit in the lower left corner.

Please let me know if that solves the dilemma.

RamDriver, thank you so so much for the help. Yes some forums are very different in navigating.

This forum has been extremely helpful and valuable. And I greatly appreciate all the replies and offers of support.

In my on line search I came across a review by a credible fella on his Ram 1500 hurricane tremor I think. He mentioned his key fob is not one with proximity capability showing the fob as he walked to the truck. He did, however, state that he’s not having the horrible issues that others are having YET with dead batteries. Hmmmm

He referenced Mark Dodge Ram in Louisiana as being the country’s top dealer of Ram trucks and when the hurricane first came out they purchased an era motor to keep on hand as I suppose there was whispers of them possibly grenading.

He stated of all the rams they sell not one motor issue. Good news.

Soooo, my thoughts are if they sell the most in the country maybe, just maybe they’ve come across some of the problems we’re discussing here.

I’m gonna call them Monday!!!

WHY, though I would like a new truck, not gonna touch anything with the new Atlantic Electrical architecture that RAM started using in 2025, besides not wanting a DI dual bolted on turbo motor setup. RAM may have gotten the ride, and maybe the motor OK, but their electronics now, IMHO, smhhhhh.

Same goes to any E Junkola RAM Hemi. RAM, open yer eyes, go back to a Non E Torque Hemi, and maybe ditch the MDS also and re-engineer the upper motor oiling process. SO many wishes, better find some "star" somewhere.

Although the RF Hub and proximity sensing have often been found to be responsible for waking our trucks, there are a myriad of other electronic systems that could be contributing.

Mark Dodge has a great reputation for excellent prices and great support.
Please let us know how that connection works for you.

RamDriver, that remark you made there is exactly what the service writer working on my truck told me on the phone what they are looking into after I left the dealership. He mentioned some kind of "hub". Your comment reminded me of that.

This forum has already helped me tremendously.

And I will for sure keep yall updated.

turkeybird56, I watched a real good video of a mechanic shop, obviously very well versed in engine building and mechanics, totally invalidate the new 2026 "Hemi" or "non real hemi engine" and the eTorque box sitting on the top. He explained where the original term "Hemi" came from describing the cylinders and that the new engine is not a "real Hemi" anymore.

The Etorque is a marketing ploy to satisfy EPA to be able to cut back on engine performance and have the eTorque box take over some of the engine performance. I may have said all that not exactly how he put it but similar.

He went over the internals of the engine and was not super impressed. Then walked under it and pointed out all the exposed vital components that were vulnerable to road debris and such.

Oh well, guess we'll see how all that plays out.

Update: I just received an email stating that the ordered part(s) have arrived at the dealer. The part number is......CH68523814-AA. I have done search on line for that number with no success. Does anyone have thee ability to find that part?

I just received a phone call from Ram Customer service about my case. I guess its a follow up because I requested a rental so I was given a phone number to call to get a case started. She stated that Ram is aware of my situation and she will follow up with the dealership to see what progress they've made. Hmmm, I told her about the part ordered and she stated it was an Integrated key FOB. HUH? Apparently a new "transmitter" or maybe the "HUB" that the service fella referred to is being installed in the vehicle and requires a new key fob to work with that .

I did mention the information from reply #25 given to service so she'll look into that as well. We'll see
