thank you Sir. Kinda thought that's what it might be.

Update.......Received a call from the service tech and he stated the "engineer" decided to make updates to the computer and the new key fob is because the original is sending false codes to eh RF Hub antennae's? Stated the push start is also a sorta hub as well. This is getting confusing. multiple hub found throughout the vehicle besides the one located behind the rear seats as well as antennas.

Also asked if I could bring my spare key fob to dealer tomorrow to test it with the new updates. I asked about the noises it makes and the paperwork on the repairs that worked for another owner and he said one thing at a time. Oh boy

3/31/26.......dropped off spare key FOB as requested by service writer, spoke to the financial officer about options of buy back etc. (nope), met with the service manager and he knew about my issues but not fully aware so he's going to get the engineer on it tomorrow that's coming in tomorrow. He didn't know about my tailgate so he's getting those parts ordered as well.

The dead battery/noises issue that I provided them with from on here, he's also going to look up my parts to see if they are the same as described in post #25 then have that changed out as well. Hmmm, we'll see.

I'm also told that Mopar or Ram or somewhere out there in computer land another software update has been sent out to dealers for these trucks so that was going to be done also.

The manager stated his truck left him with a dead battery recently 5 hours form home with a visit to the local RAm dealer. The other service writer told me he's got 17,000 miles on his less than a year old and his dash cluster is out for the second time and only one dead battery experience. But he did say if he goes over a bumpy road his Uconnect screen flickers then some back on. OMG!!! I live in the south and know it's laid back but seriously?? hahahha

Lastly, the service manager stated that's why Ram gives the owner 3 years 30,000 miles warranty on electrical because they knew when the trucks went out with new technology they were going to have to resolve it. Sell it now ...fix it later

Yes it does! Hang onto it if it's treating you well. I should have held onto my Ford F150 Lariat with 80,000 miles
My older son has a 25 Biggyhorn. His is due for trailer light recall. So far I believe his is ok. He had it 3 weeks and was rear ended at a traffic light.

I'm sorry to hear his truck was hit, sucks for sure. As I've been digging into these electrical issue it seems the Bighorn does not have the tech like the upper level trucks which isn't causing as many problems

He had to fight insurance. All the insurance adjusters than did not even have 2025 part list. They listed all repair estimates on 2024 model so there was a lot of BS back and forth till his truck finally repaired properly.

Final update
Received a call from service on Thursday that my truck was ready for pickup. Ok.
It was explained that the key FOB was bad and replaced. The computer and assoc “Hubs” etc received software updates and reboots. Tow module replace as per recall. Lift gate repaired with new “motor module” inside gate and now operational. New batteries installed as well.
The DTCM in my truck was inspected and does not have the same part number as the faulty one described on post #25 and with no known issues
So now fingers crossed that the truck will operate as expected.
Thank you to all who offered support and mechanical advice. Great group of owners/members here.

I'm starting to think these 'software updates' are just something the service dept is saying to try and defuse the situation. That, or it's like modern PC's and there's ALWAYS a new software update available. Probably a combination of both.

Mine is a '23, so obviously different. I've had it for two years and 16K miles. It's had 3 check engine lights and has been to in for warranty issues 5 times. Last time $20 Amazon code reader said nothing found. Service said it was the Etorque and they just needed to... wait for it... install an update.

I picture them disconnecting the battery and/or using a code reader to turn off the check engine light. I'm an IT tech, so just don't trust them. If it goes back to the dealer anytime soon, I'm going to check which software version the computer is showing, then check it after.

Mine still has a year left of the 3yr/36K warranty. Told my wife I might want to trade it in at the end of the warranty period. She disagrees (she's the sensible money spender). So I'll wait and see. The truck works great while it's working great. I just have no confidence that it won't be in service a few times per year.

I agree with wanting to ditch the truck before the warranty has expired, but I'm allergic to the complications of the e-Junk.

Do some research on the average repair costs and grief for maintaining/repairing an e-Torque truck and present that info to your home financial department (wife).

I would also consider ditching it with 60-90 days remaining on the warranty.
This will add potential value, whether you choose to trade or sell privately.

Well..............I thought all my problems were solved until about 3 days ago.

Problems that were repaired/solved....1) Dead batteries (twice) resolved with software updates, RF Hub updates, Key FOB replacement and antennae updates 2) Tailgate motor replaced so it would latch 3) Dash cluster replaced after second failure and now.......

Driving in stop and go traffic lights in town and truck start sputtering, bucking, acting like its either missing or the transmission sputtering then the check engine light starts flashing. Once I got out of the traffic and rolling it stopped and the check engine light stopped flashing and went out.

Called the dealer, told them this and told to bring it in first thing in the morning to see if they could recover any codes. Yup , several codes but the truck needs to be left off and cold to continue troubleshooting.

I've done some reading on this and found it described perfectly for what was happening to mine and it pointed to something with the transmission. I take everything I read on the internet with a "grain of salt", so to speak, but the similarities were striking.

Anyone ever hear of such a thing that I described or have any input?

Thanks!
Craig

Can NOT imagine keeping this truck.

My vehicles are a resource. My vehicles serve me, so to speak. On demand, ready to go short or long haul.

I am looking into lemon law attorneys in SC. I do not meet all of the criteria for a solid case. Must be out of service for 30 consecutive days and unable to repair same condition 3 times. 2 weeks out was the most thus far and problems solved in the 2nd time in garage.

Meanwhile I called dealer for codes (he’ll call me back) and he did state they test drove with some type of device attacked to the truck and the CEL came back on. The device recorded “multiple cylinders misfired”.

Now they have to figure out what and what is causing it.

Yup, talk to a lawyer. 30 consecutive days may not be the criteria. 30 days cumulative with the same problem sounds more right. Else the Service Dept/Dealer could drag it out indefinitely with claims it is fixed every 29 days, only to have it fail a 100 yards from the dealer.
