3.7 to 4.7 engine swap manual trans 03 ram......

Found an 03 1500 for sale with low miles, I like the body style, and cant find a similar one with v8 manual trans, so since this one is priced low, why not get it, then ditch 3.7 for a 4.7 swap......but will the 4.7 botl to the nv4500 in 03 rams? If I remember right, the 4.7 manual trans harness, and ecu harness have to be swapped over with 4.7......what other difficulties should be expected?? Has anyone done so already please give feed back thanx.......

3.7 is just a shorter 4.7 (but with more stroke); same engine family though. You could either try to find a donor harness, or if not hit up Hotwireauto.com. They've already created swap harnesses just for this type of thing in Jeep Liberty's. Otherwise this is one of the easier, more straightforward swaps.

I just put my old getrag 238 5speed from my v6 swapped cummins truck into a 1500 5.7 hemi truck issue free. So putting it behind a 4.7 will be the same.

You are correct. The trans is a direct swap. I have used the same trans for 2 different swaps.
