I have a 05 2500 with a 2.5" level on the front. I'm running BFG all terrains 315/70/17 on the stock aluminum wheels. At full lock steering I'm getting a small amount of rubbing on the lower arm. Is everyone else getting this or am I unique?

sounds pretty normal, may be bc of your wheels offset

It's normal. I wouldn't worry about it. Just don't fully lock it in a turn. Otherwise if it bugs you you'll need to huge wheels away from the truck with like a -4.50 BS.

Not surprised at all. It's just a bit too wide of a tire with a stock offset wheel.

They will still rub
If you don't want rubbing do with a 285/70/17 it's just over 33" tall but 10.5" wide
They don't look bad on qc short beds but they still look tiny on qc long beds

So it's more of the width than the height that causes the rubbing. I had 285's when I bought the truck. I put the 315's and level on right away.

Exactly, I've seen pictures of trucks with 37x12.5 on stock wheels and no level and they rub in the same place too
It's a shame cause I like the stock aluminum wheels but will be getting new ones once they're in the budget

My 305/70R17s don't rub w/o a level, so it must be the different angle that would make rub w/ the level.... interesting

Think the fronts changed from 02-05 to more room in 06 up? I wanna say its easier to tuck that big wheel in on the 3.5 gen rams.

Nope, my front end is the same as the 03-05s. They didn't do any changes until 08.5 which was upgraded steering

Parts are the same, I didn't notice any
Differences when I did a level on my buddies 06
I wouldn't doubt the extra .4" wide and .5" taller would be enough to make a 315 rub an 305 not knowing that the only rub the littlest bit

Are the wheel wells on the 2500s bigger than the ones on the 1500s?

I was told the 2500 wheels are 17"x7.5" and I believe the 1500s are 17x9 I think
The 2500s rub on the control arms which 1500 don't have

I was told when you lifted or leveled, the UCA will actually stick out a little more then stock, this might be a reason?

I know on my leveled 08 Ram I rub at full lock with 325/65R18's. And when the tires are straight forward theres like 1/4 of an inch of room between the sidewall and UCA. I've been thinking of getting 1.5 inch spacers to stop it but it's not a big deal.
