Has anybody with a 4x4 installed a leveling kit and not have the vibration or shake when in 4 wheel drive?

I've not had any vibrations in 4wd after my install. Been about a year since installed. I've used both hi and lo with no issues.

Did you get it aligned after the level was installed?

I don't have any issues. 4x4, HBS 2" kit, aligned at the same shop that did the install.

Only had my 2" level kit for about 3 months and I can count the number of times I put it in 4x4 on one hand, but I don't remember having any vibrations. Now that I've installed the Bilsteins on the front, I do have vibrations at low speeds in 4x4. Figure that one out.

Between your Bilsteins and lift your CVs are probably at an angle that is causing the vibrations.

That's probably true. My CV aren't as bad now as they were then though oddly enough. Still I'm only using 4x4 when I really need it so it doesn't bother matter to me.

i could have sworn i replied to this earlier, but i guess not..LOL

I don't have a leveling kit yet. I'm trying to see roughly if the odds are more for having the vibration after level in 4wheel drive or less.

the issue isnt if you have it, its when youll get it.

these front IFS systems are the EXACT SAME as the 3rd gen, and its all about when the right amount of wear allows that vibration to take place.

my 06 didnt have it then as the year went on with my 35"s it got it and it got worse and worse finally to the point i was going to replace my entire front end components.

for those with 4th gens that say they dont have it, ask how many miles they have? if you dont have it you will. there is no flaw in the IFS its just the way all the geometry lines up and when some parts move just a bit to create a vibration from the front drive shaft through the front end.

my 09 only has a 2" level and it didnt have a vibration before but it did instantly the day i installed it. its not bad but i know it will get worse so front end parts (MOOG FTW) will be in the future.

and yes i agree you shouldnt need to use 4wd on pavement. and if you cant feel it when your offroad thats prolly because you just cant tell the difference from the uneven ground.

the only common factor in all the stories of 4wd drive vibration is time wearing on parts. some dont have it with some levels, change to another whether it be larger or smaller and then they get it. when you take the IFS apart you put a small amount of wear into the parts from dis-assembly, factor that in with the wear allowed since you first installed the level and it will cause issues from then on.

you dont have yo believe me on this but ive seen it happening on forums for the last 3 years and ive had 1st hand experience with it twice. fact is all parts wear out. in these trucks that cause a 4wd vibration.

from all the leveling kits ive seen the HBS ones are the strongest made. this is the 2nd kit ive bought from them. I believe jeremy had one on his 3rd gen also. great company and great product from them.

Yup, I stuck with what I knew.

Well.........I looked. The funny thing? I noticed that HBS showed a different part number for the kit for 08.5 and up. I asked them about it - they said half way through the 08 model year a plate was removed from the top of the strut. They send a plate with the new ones to help make up that difference. No other company seemed to know there was a difference. HBS got my $$ again. :D
