4th gen vs 5th gen rear axle. ZF 9.25 is a inadequate axle assembly for this truck.

You might not notice the difference, but the Transfer assembly WILL see the difference between the gear ratios.

I am not a fan of Amsoil gear oil, it didn't last in my jetski pump or my boat outdrive. I won't use it in my truck.
Redline has never let me down.

You don't have to pull the cover to check the fluid or drain it - there's a drain plug on the bottom of the passenger side of the diff.. Could probably put a magnet on it or get a magnetic plug (I can't remember if it has a magnet on it or not from the factory).

Never had a problems with Amsoil gear oil, I ran Amsoil severe gear oil in my 06 2500 4x4 for over 80K without any problems, changed it out an reinstalled Amsoil gear oil it, it had 35K on the gear oil it when I sold it, the owner has not reported any problems...

I have zero skin in this thread other than reading it but this makes sense. Clearly he's trying to sell his products but that is a very informative video.
