4wd switch

My 2010 ram has the 4wd electronic knob switch without the auto option. Anyone do a switch out to the switch the 4wd auto option?

I'm sure just swapping out the switch assembly won't get you the auto option.

need a different transfer case if that 4auto was an option for your year. Im sure there is something electronic in the truck that will also need programming.

I'm tracking that. What I'm asking is has anyone else done a switch and what else is needed.

I haven't done the switch, but Like WilliamS said you would need the proper transfer case. Then there would be the issue of making the computer know that the 4 auto transfer case and switch are installed and making them work. That's also assuming the proper transfer case is physically a direct swap.

You'll likely want to replace the clutch packs from the donor transfer case, and consider using upgraded clutches to avoid some of the common complaints with that model.
