Hey guys looking to buy a 2012 Ram 4x4 4.7 everything checked out just have one question? On the lift in 2 wheel drive I found that the drive shaft spins freely but the front wheels seem to bind up when trying to turn them is this normal or is something going on?

Were the wheels pointing relatively strait ahead. If the wheels are turned sharply, the angle of the CV joints may as some resistance that could be perceived as binding.

I can't think of anything that would have prevented wheel rotation.

Typically, with 4wd engaged both front wheels will need to be hanging free. When one is turned, the other will typically turn the opposite direction.

If the opposite side wheel is resting on something, that might make it feel like it's binding.

Wheels are straight.. heard today if truck is in neutral the front wheels will turn freely? Wish i had tried when it was on the lift. Thinking it has something to do with the 4 wheel drive system?? As I said the the truck is in 2wd drive shaft spins freely front wheels don't. Thanks for responding.
