I have been watching the forum for years, a lot of great info here, but never felt the need to post until now. I purchased a new 2016 1500 Laramie last month and the 8.4 NAV was one feature that i would not do without. I have been trying to find what the max SD card would work. Searching the forum i could find nothing that stated that anything above 64 gig would work reliably, only a few vague posts that some were getting 128's to work, and nothing with the new 8.4 NAV / RA4 specifically. I found a killer deal black Friday on a Kingston 512 gb Class 10 sd card and could not resist the urge to purchase. I formatted the card to FAT32 using GUIFORMAT and setting the largest setting 65536. I moved about 10 gig of music to the card and tried it in the truck, no luck. I found a post stating to hold the volume/mute knob and the tune/browse button to re boot the uconnect. Once the reboot occurred with the sdcard in the slot the card was recognized after about 15 seconds and all of the folders and music was available. I then copied all of my music and filled the card to about 415 gig. Another re boot with the card in place was required, then all of my music was available. I have several hundred folders in the root of the card, each labeled by artist etc, and the albums in the folders. I have been in and out of the truck for two days and have had no issues. There is a delay when initially browsing but other than that no other issues have been noted.
This card will not work in my wife's 2015 Grand Cherokee with the 8.4 nav/ra4.
I hope this helps someone else.
