Hey everyone, I have a ‘12 ram 1500 4.7 AT 4x4 and the trans is now making a grinding noise when I shift it into reverse. It makes the noise even when stopped, and gets louder when I back up. Only in reverse. Is the trans shot? It’s got 245k original miles, no mods. Also I’m trying to verify that only a 12-13 trans would work in my truck. Any experience or knowledge would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Does this grinding noise happen with it in reverse and the vehicle is NOT MOVING at ALL?
