Greetings all,
I'm not really new here, but have only posted a couple of times.
Anyhow, I currently have a 16 Ram 1500 BIG Horn QC. I am considering lowering my truck from its current 6in RC lift to either a 3 in or possibly back to stock. The truck was lifted when I bought it. I do not have any experience with lift kits, but am generally mechanically inclined. Can anyone advise me on the work required as well as the parts involved in making this swap. If it's too much money or work, I may be trading it in.
I appreciate any advice you all can offer!

Welcome, you cannot go back to stock but you could lower it to a 4” kit I guess

I just put a 6" kit on my truck and had to cut the frame, and it is my understanding that any 6" kit will require the frame to be cut. So no going back to stock. I think I would contact Rough Country and tell them what you want to do. I would think they should know what is needed to lower it. My guess is you'll have to buy another kit to do this. Depending on the tires and rims on it now, you may have to buy new tires and rims so you don't have rubbing problems. Unless you are totally in love with this truck it might be easier and cheaper to sell it and buy a different truck. Just my opinion, but I think the first place to start is to contact Rough Country and see what they say, and go from there.

Thanx Cincy for the advice. I actually had thought about that for a split second. This isn't exactly what I WANT to do. Its more out of necessity. Most of the time I love it like it is. But sometimes I wish it was lower. Sounds like I may have a decision to make. Can I live with it; should I live with it?

I hope I helped some and didn't make it more difficult. I say life is short, go for what makes you happy. If having it lifted causes you pain or difficulties then find one that doesn't and makes you happy. If you like it lifted then go with it and enjoy the hell out of it. It's a nice looking truck! Good luck man!

The 6” and 4” kits parts are 90% the same with only a few items changing (usually spacers). If I were you I would go to the RC website, find the 6” and 4” kit instructions and compare the parts list and install for both. My guess is you can probably do this rather cheaply.

Good advice JB1. That's probably the route I'll pursue.
Thank you.
