I recently had to rebuild my top end on my 2012 5.7 with a 6spd due to MDs failure. So I cammed it with moes 210hpt with new springs and refinished heads. I’ve got a few other mods as well but I’m looking into my drivetrain now. For ~$3k-4k I can rebuild my 6spd get a 3400 stall converter and LSD With 4.10 gears. If I were to do the 8spd swap it would be ~6k-7k. I’m planning on building this thing long term looking for around 700hp with turbo. I’m wondering if I should go through the trouble of finding a shop to do my 8spd swap and saving up money. Or going with the cheaper 6spd rebuild with converter gears and lsd, and a cheaper rebuild for a future broken trans.

Your cheapest option is to scrounge up another 6 speed from a junkyard. No matter what anybody tells you, your RFE can't be built to handle any power, most guys just hunt up another used one and swap it in,till they can afford to do the 8 speed swap. You're just throwing money down the drain by messing with your RFE.
If you want actual honest opinions from guys who've had an RFE built go onto High Performance Rams and Tuned Rams on facebook and ask about building the RFE,as you won't get good opinions here as nobody on here has built an RFE and tried to get it to last behind a mild 5.7

If you're planning on doing a turbo, don't waste money on 4.10's,a turbo works better with 3.21 or 3.55's then it does with 3.92's or 4.10's,especially with an 8 speed
