Hello All,
Anyone used an aftermarket Catalytic Converter Kit by A-Premium? My 5.7 Hemi 2012 2500 4X4 has 222,000 (purchased used at 217,000) miles and am getting P0420 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)).
Saw a replacement kit on Amazon but wanted input before I pull the trigger.
Appreciate your time,
Sonny

I know one thing for sure from experience, cats just don’t burn out. It’s usually a product of something not burning correctly prior to the cats. If you don’t correct that, you will burn through the new cats in short order. I have had good success with Walker cats and other exhaust system parts

Understood and totally agree for sure. Thank you for the reply. No codes, no rough idle, no drivability issues or abnormal exhaust smell.

A spare car of ours ran pretty good….but on “hard” acceleration..it had a “miss”…. otherwise ran great …so I didn’t do anything for a year or so because it was a “spare car”.
When we finally looked into it..the Cat converter had to be replaced ($900)… bu the CAUSE of the cat failure was the lousy ignition failures causing that “miss’ for two years. (Turned out to simply need new spark plugs and a mis-behaving coil).

Point being..the ignition problem that was not addressed…is what failed that cat converter.

The new A premium wheel bearings, struts, control arms, tie rods, and air filter I used on the Fiat are all working well. Everything seemed to be well made and all went in properly.

I’ve got an A premium transmission pan for the Warlock, seems to be identical to a stock pan. It will be put in next year, sometime.

If you can’t just put on a piece of pipe for emissions requirements where you live, the cheap cat will probably get you by.
