I've spent the last 3 days taking the dash out of my '03 Ram 1500 and replacing the evaporator core (which was leaking). This morning I tried adding freon and it seemed to be working; the air was cooling as I re-charged it and I thought everything was fine. Then about 5 mins after I finished adding freon the AC liquid line popped off the evaporator, releasing a small cloud.

It appears that the line wasn't locked in like I thought it was. However, since then I've tried putting it in and it just won't click into place. It feels like it does, but can be pulled off relatively easily.

Anyone have any advice here? Do I need to replace the line? Or is it just being stubborn and will eventually click into place?

Are you using the clamp that keeps held together? If you need a picture of what I'm talking about let me know, I just had my AC redone and that clamp is pretty obvious when you are looking for it.
