Hello All. I recently purchased a 2014 Ram 2500 4x4 Crew Tradesman with AAM 11.5 and 3.73 gears. It already has Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires. I thought (wrongly) that with it being a 4x4 and with the Snow Plow Prep that it would have the LSD (e.g. anti spin) rear diff. I live in Illinois, and always get a ton of snow. I had been a Mopar fan my entire life, but spent the last 4 years with a 2007 Tahoe Z71 with rear locker. The Tahoe is my wife's now, and I don't want to get stuck in the snow and her come tow ME out of a ditch
.
I don't do much towing and when i do, it will be 5K lbs or less. I would like to go the route of an auto locker like the Chevy's Eaton G80, but even LSD would be nice.
I go off road fairly rarely. If I do, it would be a trip to the Badlands in Indiana, but most of my "off road" is dirt roads.
In Priority, this is what I would like to go with
1) Auto Locker
2) LSD
3) Electric Locker
4) Air locker
Price will be a big thing for me since I just dumped a bunch into the truck. Obviously, with the Air locker, I will need to get the compressor and everything else. Electric, I will just need to tie into the Aux switches.
What kind of prices am I looking at to get this done, and do you have any recommendations for parts?
Thanks,
Chris
