Gentlemen,
It's been a while since i was on the forum.
I just took delivery on my newest Ram.
A 2014 Quad Express ST Black Out with the 5.7, 6 speed and 3.55 gears. This is my third Ram in ten years but the first with "Street Performance" as it's main consideration in mind. No towing, no heavy loads. Just an occasional light load, daily driving and maybe a bi-monthly trip to the local drag strip.
So,. after the initial purchase in have $2000 left to spend.
My thoughts were Exhaust, Diablo, Cold Air Intake.
All recommendations would be appreciated.

If I were you I'd do this:
Vararam intake
Tuner
Shorty headers
Free flowing muffler
Ported throttle body
Catch can

You can probably get most of this stuff all together for under $2000, or at least close to it!

Diablo w/HF $599
180 tstat $29
Vararam CAI $344
Magnaflow CB $820
Billet Catch Can $139

Total $1,931. Perfect! :)

Probably should stretch your budget a little to add a ported TB + $349...

As far as shorty headers, I wouldn't do them unless you live in a state with emissions restrictions, like Cali. I would do JBA LTs.

I have JBA shorties because California is a PITA! They're nice, but no comparison to the LTs. IMHO :)

Happy Modding!

Ok,
First, thanks you guys for the prompt responses.
AND i'm glad everybody was on the same page with mods.
Second,
Pardon my ignorance.
Catch Cans.
I used catch cans back in the day when we were street racing Harleys.
Are we talking Catch Cans to catch crank case pressure blow off? Is this a large concern or just a mess?
AND if so, can anyone recommend someone that sells a complete all in clusive kit.

Same concept.
Moe's Performance is a great source for all that.

Ok
Looking at Vararam Which system?
Hemi Ram,...Air Grabber,...Or "Under glass"
Aslo
Keep the single to Two exhaust with adding an improved Y pipe?
Or, go to a complete dual with an H pipe?
Are headers "KEY"?

That's a really good list, personally I would go with a Mufflex delete.

4th Gen is only the Air Grabber
For now just replace your exhaust with a single in dual out.
If you ever go to headers then replace your Y pipe with a magna flow Y pipe. Or mod if to a X what ever you want to do. I like 2 in to a X and 2 out.

Air Geabber,...ok,...
On the Exhaust

Is it better to go to a Two In X Pipe two out with stock exhaust manifold?
Or a Header with Y pipe, muffler but the rest of the exhaust stock?
(due to money constrictions)

I had that and really liked it, 2 in X 2 out true duals flowmaster 10 race exhaust. I sounded pretty mean and my truck liked it pretty good.
My Mufflex delete was less exspensive and my truck likes it even better. I'm running the Magnflow Y pipe now. That is a pretty big restriction, I don't have any data to back that up just pictures you can find on the net.
Both are a very good system, the true duals will cost more, to me the Y pipe with the Mufflex delete functions better.

Do you know a source for the two in two out flowmaster system.
I cant seem to find one.
Or are you talking about having one built with an X pipe and flowmaster parts

This is a great list! I would drop the Maggy car back and change it to a Muflex delete with 4" tips. And save $500.
That gives you the needed cash for other mods!

Magnaflow, flowmaster, Mufflex all makes these. There's one for sale now in the for sale section of this forum.

what kind of gains do you think you'd see with this setup?

Also any mods that won't void the warranty?
