I have not been on this site often but hope one of you may be able to point me in the right direction. 2008 6.7 laramie on weight loss that I installed in 2011. H&S mini and 120K miles of reliable trouble free driving with no codes. I am 70 and although I am OK with computers I just feel I am lacking info on how to run the program. I need to get into the body computer to check on the status of my A/c. The snowflake comes on at every start no matter what. Searching the forums came up with a possible B1001 fault. I'm hoping I may be able to reset the code. I purchased OBDMX+ and downloaded Alpha but no other hardware. Am I on the right track? I saw a video that suggested to upload to google drive. Not sure what to do after that. If you have a step by step write up or something similar so I feel confident that no harm will be done to my truck I would appreciated it.

Thanks
Warren

Read the following thread END TO END before you do anything. Yes, it is long. Yes, not everything applies to you. Yes, it will save you heartache if you do. There are some really great posts in there from some of our knowledge experts here and those will literally save you time and frustration.

First rule, copy your entire list of settings to a phone or computer before you do anything. The odds of finding a truck like your's to reference if you get into trouble is extremely low. There is information in the thread in how to do that. Also, search the entire site for posts on Alpha OBD (or AlphaOBD without the space) to read what others have done.

Good luck
