Going to change the rear diff oil with Amsoil severe gear 75w-140. Do I need a LSD additive?

Most likely no. Do you have limited slip? I am assuming yes since you asked.

AMSOIL Severe Gear is compatible with most limited-slip differentials. If limited-slip differential chatter occurs, add AMSOIL Slip Lock® friction modifier additive.

Your first reply says it all, only add if you feel chatter or shudder or whatever you want to call it, and then add like one ounce at a time. But like 95% you will not need it, I in fact haven't heard anyone having chatter with Amsoil SG or Redline. The only other time you add it is for break in benefits, again not really benefit if you are using top gear oil.

Some limited slip units require stringent break in procedures so read up on the one you are installing.

Besides possible additives, Breaking in a new diff = no fun, no burnouts, no towing, no getting on the pedal, no launches, you get the picture. No heat, which you have to be careful because your 18 heats up the diff oil where all of the other 4 gens don't. Not a big deal, but make sure you don't work that diff too much. Short trips at first, check the temp. Don't just drop a diff in and go 500 miles and tow some ****. Maybe it will work out, or maybe you will be on the side of the road.

Ok, so I'm going to assume I have LSD, 2016 Express, 5.7 with 3.92 gears. Would that be a correct assumption?

More than likely you do but you need to find your build sheet or window sticker to be 100% sure. I have seen a **** ton of 3.21 trucks with open diffs but all the 3.92 trucks I've seen had LSD. I believe there's also a way to check your VIN to find out what options you have too.

I wonder if the sticker under the diff somehow denotes the LSD, here’s mine with 3.92 and I have the LSD

Just picked up 3 quarts today from a small mom and pop country store. Just a little highway corner store in middle of nowhere stocks amsoil. :headbang:

$15 per quart. Cheaper than buying direct online.
