Got my tailgate done today doing it the "ricer" way..lol..I used a blow dryer, fishing line, and some wd-40 to clean off the adhesive. Then wash/waxed the area. It came out good but took some elbow grease! After my fingers are beat to s*** I came here to find out whats safe to use to get the adhesive off?? Goo Gone, 3m adhesive remover, etc?? Any help would be appreciated! Heres a pic of my tailgate though..

Looks good dude! If you do it on a nice hot day with the badge sitting in the sun it comes off really easy haha and you don't need to hurt your fingers :D i used goof off, it worked well and doesn't hurt the paint. If you do use it just have a bucket of soap and water by you and clean off the goof off every once in a while. then give er a nice wax :D

I personally used Goo Gone, washed it off with some dish soap and then used some clay, polish and wax. Mine came out just fine and I have a 2010!

I used goo gone. Worked great and easy. Then went over it with a clay bar to get rid of the ghost letters. Then followed up with fukken. Couldnt even tell it was there.

I uses the 3M adhesive remover. For anything that wasn't taken off with a reasonable effort using that (short of rubbing your fingers down to nubs), I used an eraser wheel.

Since my trim & badging had been on for a while, I cut and buffed the truck afterwards to remove the dirt lines that were imbedded in the clearcoat.

autozone wont have the eraser wheel. Well atleast the ones by me dont. But yea fishing line and an eraser wheel are by far the easiest. I have also used goo gone and a plastic putty knife to scrape it off. it made it easier and didnt mess up the paint. But there is always that possibility that it could scratch it.

So after not being able to find goo gone and trying Turtle Wax label and sticker remover..Ive had enough!!!!! My fingers all have blisters!! Im breaking down and buying an eraser wheel like most of you suggested. So after taking the emblems off do I just go to town on the adhesive with the eraser wheel??

I used an eraser wheel on my truck, but still had a little of the glue residue. I pressure washed the area after the eraser wheel and went to town with adhesive remover and a rag to get the remaining glue off. Then washed my truck again. Came out nice.
