Any programming to make the 5 sp a 6 sp?

Just curious if there us any programming out there to update the 5 sp trans to use 2 prime all the time like in the 2013's? Or was it 2012?

Curious is all. Not sure if there is actually an advantage to it or not. Perhaps it isn't a good thing at all?

No advantage whatsoever. It doesn't use 2nd prime all the time anyways, only when in Tow/Haul. The whole 6 speed thing is purely marketing.

Interesting. I always thought the new 6sp made use of 2 prime all the time. Just in tow haul mode then. Just like always.

When they changed it to a "6" speed they allowed you to select all 6 gears manually, that is the only difference.

My friend was surprised when he bought his 2012. Didnt believe he had the same trans as mine. lol

If the 2p upshift table is present in CMR and you map it out the PCM will not use the commands and it will hold 2nd till limiter.

Tried it myself...
