Anyone else have to invent new curse words at every fill up?

I had an '09 ram and now an '18...seems like every single time I fuel up I can barely ever get the dang thing to stay on after putting the fuel nozzle in. Squeeze...three seconds of fueling...click!....*insert new foul word here* and repeat. The 09 wasn't so bad but my new truck drives me nuts at gas stations lol. I'm guessing its a venting issue but not sure. Anyone else experience this??

I get this problem in my 14’. However, it comes and goes which is odd. Definitely a pain in the ass. Not sure the cause.

My old Grand Marquis did this. It had to do with the angle the nozzle sits in the fuel port.

This. I've read other threads where this is a problem in states that have some kind of earth saving safety nozzle.
I'm in honkyville, Ga not California but that's probably it honestly. All the newer pumps seem to have more rubber guards and huge springs on the spouts. I don't see the benefits at all even though there's probably some reason for it.

No problem with my 17 here in Houston Texas, I actually use the clip on the handle that keeps it pumping, when it clicks after awhile mines full.

Y'all must live in California or one of the other "Nanny States" with the ****** up fuel nozzels.
***** ...... this was funny

I believe it is a venting issue. Make sure the nozzle is all the way in. I have no issues here in Texas

I've only filled up my 2018 Ram 3 times so far. Each time I could NOT just insert nozzle, squeeze and flip the switch to keep it going. It has always shut off after 3-5 seconds. Tried both "notch levels" and will not stay running. Have to manually hold and squeeze at a slow rate to get it not to stop.

My 18 does it especially bad at one fuel station, the one closest to my house. I no longer go there...

I thought that the way a lot of people complained about the 32 gallon tank gauge, nobody filled their truck up anymore. I haven't had the problem in my 13 or on my 16. Like JB1, I use the clip and it shuts off when it's full.

Yep seems to happen randomly to me. I lock it, proceed to clean up any trash that may be in the truck while it fills up.. 3 seconds into it...click . End up having to reposition it once or twice. I could never pinpoint it since I travel for work and use several different stations.

My 16 has done this randomly, but I just figured it was that particular station.

I worked a gas station in my teens and the mid-late f 150's were horrible for this. Some kink in the filler neck IIRC. Pain in the a$$.

Weakness in the wrist could lead to lack of grip strength needed to properly insert gas nozzle and squeeze trigger. I suggest doing a few farmers walks to increase grip strength.

I stick it in all the way and squeeze it all the way and it only clicks off when I am done.
All good here. :)
