As title suggests..

In most my vehicles i've done both front stage and rear fill. My last vehicle i did just front stage and bridged the power so the front stage got more power and just deleted the rears.. Not sure how i felt about it. Was fine for me, but always wondered about other passengers.

What are you guys doing in your Rams?

I can tell you that I've done only a front stage in a 1963 Lincoln Cont. and from a rear passanger standpoint in that huge car, it didn't make a bit of difference. If you can handle loud music I wouldn't worry about it cause all your rear passangers might do is tell you to turn it up lol.

If I had a crew cab, I'd have rear fill.

When I step up to amp'd components, you can bet your ass there won't be rear fill in my Reg Cab.

I only run front stage in all my builds. I also tune for one seat only.
If the passenger doesn't like it he can build his own damn stereo. lol

Front Stage - Speakers that are 'in front' of the first row of seats. In the Gen IV, it's the door speakers and dash speakers
Rear Fill - Speakers behind the front row of seats.

Front stage=good
Rear fill=sitting backwards at a concert. lol

People have differing views but IMHO all the sound should come from the front like a live concert would be. Mine is tuned with the stage height about 4" above the dash, width is well outside the pillars and depth is about middle of the hood. I'm still fighting a wandering center image on some stuff but I'm getting it dialed in when I have time to hook up the laptop and mess with it. I use time alignment to center everything in front of my seat and play with the reflections off the glass for a little ambience.

Some people like to add rear fill and manually add that ambience. A live show in a theatre will have reflections off the rear of the building. That is what real fill should emulate. It shouldn't be a full tilt rear system competing with the front.

It's all personal preference at the end of the day but the crew cabs with speakers in the headliner just make me cringe. There's no way in hell to make that sound right.

I've always used rear fill. I always have rear passengers. I typically throw a cheap-but decent aftermarket coax in the rear -- because OE typically sounds horrible. In a 2-dr truck, I can definitely see why they wouldn't be needed.

Thanks guys.

I think because of the amount of space i have in the back, i'll use rear fill. Now just need to determine if i'm going to go coaxial or component. I had planned on running my Massive VK6 comp's in the front, need to determine how i want to match in the back.
