Ok Ram guru's, I finally got around to pulling my dash apart so I can see how I'm going to set up my switches. When I pulled off the RAM filler plate I found a connector with 3 wires that was connected to just a piece of plastic to hold it.

Red wire, black wire w/green stripe and white wire.

The red/black were 12V constant power and the white/black were 8V constant.

I haven't got a clue what if anything they're connected to. I was excited because if they're just chillin there then I can take power for the switch harness right from there.

I have the 2 other panel threads with the switch schematic saved and have been looking the over for a while.

The Laramies use that space for heated/cooled seats and heated steering wheel so i'd assume the extra plug is for one of those options.

Right, and I'm putting this switch in.

Anyone know where that white wire go's? Or can I use it to power pin 7 on the switch?

I finally got that switch wired at working.

You could use the 12v to power the switch, but I didn't. I just ran it to the battery because I wanted all my stuff able to run even if the truck was off.

There is a thread in the interior section, i think it is called factory switch plate. Follow those directions. You will not use the stock harness from the back of the blackout plate. You will also need 4 relays if you want to wire up that switch panel nice and clean. I just did mine the other day. You will need to send 12v constant to the relays so you could tap into that harness for that.

I've been following your other thread on it. When I hit that wire with a multi meter though, it was 12v constant power not switched.

Right, there's 2 threads on it, I've been following those for quite a while.

If that's the case, I may have to redo some wiring. I've got too many things run to the battery already anyway.

Been looking at his too, lol. Where did you end up putting your relays, in the dash or somewhere else?

2 of the switches don't need a relay. I mounted 1 between the fuse box and the battery a long time ago. Hadn't planned ahead to good and ran out of room for a second next to it, so I put the other one on the other side of the battery.

One of my projects is to clean up all my wiring. It's really a mess.

The way this switch panel works, it will require less running of wire to put the relay under the hood and just run the 1 wire to the switch (unless you use that 12v power source right there behind the dash).

Gotcha. I'm real **** when it comes to wiring. I used to do stereo's and subs so I try to hide everything and run it clean. Why did you only need 2 relays though?

I mounted my relays forward of the shifter to the right. There is a perfect place to mount them that is a plastic cross piece. Mounting it there also allows you to access it just by removing the trim around the shifter console, no need to rip entire bezel apart.

I also have a lockpick which has switched and constant leads available. I hooked up relays to switched and my switches to constant. Don't think it matters which way you do it. It kept me from having to run anything off of my battery. With my set up I just need to hook up accessories to power (like my lights behind grill, 12v from battery) and plug the ground into the relay. Or you can wire up you relays so that you ground your accessory and wire the power to the relay. Either or will work.

My halos run off 2 of the switches and the halos do not need a relay.

I am pretty particular about wiring. I just wired everything up and intended to go back and make it neater just haven't had time for that project.

I have a lockpick too. I forget it has 12v and grounds coming off of it for cameras. That's a good idea on the relays too. I need to get some things off my battery and utilize these other sources.

Thanks. I saw there was a good bit of real estate under there. I've gotta figure out what I'm going to do. I'm thinking maybe 2 in the engine compartment for lights and 2 in the console for interior or rear stuff.

Do the(3) middle switches work? Or is it just the (4) aux that are operational?
