OK guys, I just got word that the 4th gen BBK shorty headers are finally available and ready to ship. Right now they only ran 15 chrome and 15 ceramic coated, so I'm sure these are going to sell out fast. I have a set of ceramic coated coming to me so that I can get some detailed pictures of the new ports and overall quality of the headers.

The chrome finish shorties are $299.99, and the ceramic coated are $399.99...Shipping is free as always.

These are going to be a great alternative for the guys that arent ready to step into a full set of longtubes. Performance gains on these will be very similar to the JBA shorties, but for much less money. They will bolt right up to the factory y-pipe as well, so no cutting or welding is required for the install.

Now for the only bad part...they would not confirm fitment on the 2500's or 4wd's. I would like to try test fitting these on a 4wd though as I dont see why they wont work. I think BBK just simply hasnt tried to install them on a 4wd yet.

Just don't use the crappy gaskets that come with BBK's. USE OEM GASKETS!

So if you've had the Y pipe replaced / moved with a magnaflow does that mean the connection will have to be welded? I'm a little confused.

So long as your factory exhaust manifolds connect to the rest of the exhaust at the same place, they'll bolt right on.

These bolt up to the exact location as the stock exhaust manifolds, so it will still work if you have a Magnaflow y-pipe welded in. The Magnaflow y-pipe is just a replacement merge collector, so if your current setup is bolted up to the factory manifolds, then these will bolt up as well.

Matt if I may comment. I run the BBK Chromes on my Hemi Car and they are holding up like new after the first year. Along with using the OEM Gaskets I found that using the Mopar 6.1 Factory Header Bolts work great for a couple reasons. Beefy and smaller 10mm Head and Thread Locker ready on the ends, makes Install of the Bolts very easy and it's not necessary to come back and re-tighten afterwards (Done 3 Sets) So go ahead and find out for yourself Folks.

I'm willing to be the beta tester for these.

Where other than a dealership would one be able to purchase the above mentioned 6.1 header bolts and of course, how much do they run?

Not yet. We have already shipped a set to a 4wd customer though, so I am waiting for his results. He didnt realize they were for 2wd only, but said he wants to try installing them anyways, so I will keep you guys posted.

Well guys, bad news for the 4wd crowd. The BBK headers will not fit on the 4wd's. We had a customer attempt the install a few days ago, but he said that 1 of the primaries sticks out and interferes with the front suspension on his 2012 4wd. Looks like these will be limited to the 2wd crowd.

4wd trucks still have the option of running the ARH longtubes or the JBA shorties though.

That sucks. Looks like it's time to start saving for JBA or ARH LT
