Well last week I ordered by BedRug through Morrie at Bak Factory Outlet and it arrived yesterday. I chose the BedRug because I had installed one on the 2008 Dakota I had and was extremely pleased with it. I carried lots of mulch, stone pavers, furniture, etc. over the over 5 years I had the truck and it still looked great. Just a sweeping or hosing down at the self serve car wash bay was all it ever needed.

The decision that took time was what folding hard cover i wanted. The tri fold Dodge one i had on the Dakota served me well and i can't imagine not having a folding hard cover. So based on that and after looking at what is out there, today I ordered a BakFlip VP. I like that it can fold all the way back for full bed use and has a nice low profile.

I expect to have it next week and probably install everything that weekend (weather permitting) so I will post some pics for those of you that may have interest.

Hey this will be my first official mod for the truck! :pepper:

I have a bed rug I bought used from a member on here. Love it.
Also a Tonnopro soft tri fold. It doesn't fold all the way up to use the whole bed, but its so easy and light to pop on and off when I need to. At $237 delivered I had to try it.
Post pics when you get the stuff installed.

I wanted a bedrug but my truck came with the ramboxes and spray-in liner, still think of getting a bedrug and just put it on top, looking forward to seeing some pics!

I think you can still do this, but you have to tell them you are installing it over the bedliner so they send you some different adhesive for the velcro strips to stick to it.

I never had an issue with that on my Dakota. The backing is water impervious foam so if you don't have a cover water runs off it just the same as if it was any other liner. it runs behind the side rails so really no place for debris to get under it.

I love the idea of the bed rug, much softer, very durable. I think part of it is, with it being so much easier on the body, it would be nice for laying up in with the lady. Plus I personally think they look nicer.

Picked up a used bed rug and bakflip vp from a member on another forum and I love them both. I got a great deal and they were in like new condition. I have a spray in liner and used the old Velcro with new double sided tape I got at Home depot and have had no issues so far. I have not hauled much in it yet.. I hooked up the drain tubes in the front and have them going out the stake pocket holes in the side of the bed. A little tricky to get in but they fit. I have not had any leaks that I can tell. The sleek looking VP cover is great. The wife even gave her approval on both after seeing them on the truck. Good choice...
