I'm looking for a bed rack for my Ram Box Power Wagon, and a clamshell style roof top tent? What choices are out there for me?

he also has brackets for awnings and such. There are several aspects to his that are more attractive than Nuthouse. Also, he is wiling to customize anything - so it never hurts to reach out to him. Never purchased a rack from Marcus, however did purchase his trans-skid, and his work is quality.

I have the very first Dethloff Contour rack that was made. You're not going to find a better rack on the market for the price, ease of installation and durability.

I love that I can keep using my truck as a truck when the tent isn't mounted. All of my cross bars are fully removable.

Plus it works flawlessly with my RamBoxes

He does make them for standard bed trucks too.

Highly recommended.

I also plan on going with the roofnest as well and have been debating on how I should mount the tent. I like the racks that are shown above because I have an aluminum boat that I plan on taking with me that'll slide in the bed so having full access to the bed is a priority. I just have a hard time spending 1,500 - 2K on a rack.

I agree on pricing. Wish there was a quality option that was more affordable

I do kinda understand your guys’ issue with the price. But thats just the way it is... stuff like that isnt cheap to make. Period.

Most people that complain of the price of these or wk sliders have no clue what it takes to fabricate. If you did, you would realize why they charge what they charge.

Get Metal, Cut, Bend, Weld. Not much more....

I think much of the price on these types items is time. (I simplified the stuff involved in a sarcastic manner, but i do believe a large portion of the price is time related). I don't have an issue with a fabricator charging for their skill. I just wish i had much money to spend on my truck.

Exactly. The cost of the actual material is probably waaaay less than half the cost of the product. But when you add in all the time needed, and special tools and skills needed.... well **** starts getting pricey.

Its pretty easy math... unless you have all the tools and skills to do it yourself (and most dont), you will be hard pressed to have any other fabricator make something any cheaper.

It doesn't look like the Leitner system will work with a Ram Box though. Too bad, because I like their product, and all of the accessory mount options.

Personally “personally” lol I’d go low profile rack. I like keeping it low out of the trees when it gets tight. And much easier to climb in that when it sits above the roof or even roof level. Sometimes a local fav shop can make some good deals and product. Dethloff makes a rambox rack. All depends on what you really want. I also have been looking at the iKamper tent. Maybe next year.
