Question for all of you who bought and installed this covers

4196f206a8a455b8f22ef0d45fd39c78.jpg

Did you have any problems with installation? In my 2500 no mater what I do , I can’t get them to stick properly and even with completely squished tape between them I have 1/8” gap all around and I’m not able to close doors with them like that. What am I doing wrong?

Where and how much of a double sided tape was on yours? On mine there is about 3/8” thin strip of tape on short sides of the covers. I’ll go to the truck again in little bit in I’ll take pictures of what I’m talking about

Ok, here are the pictures

That’s latch on my 2500

Where the shiny spots are heads of the screws are hitting first before tape has a chance to grab and when i press it in not much of a tape sticks

And this is how it looks like “installed” it sticks out so much you can’t close doors

Sounds like you figured out your problem. Just use a Xacto knife to cut out a notch where the screw heads are and remove that area of the tape. It should then sit properly on the latch. Right?

Not really , when you look at the picture with back of the cover you’ll see on tapes that it’s barely touching the screws, it seems that 1500 has different latches or screws are more recessed in them because even if I’ll double the double sided tape for them to hold on they are still sticking out too much as they are already sitting on screw heads.

Can you remove that tape and install in a better location?

Mine had tape on the short sides only, but I think there might have been a wider piece than that. I don't recall the screws on the latches sticking out like that though, that may be the issue.

Yes, that would make them stick and hold but they would be still sticking out because of the screw heads

have you tried it??? do it without tape and see what happens

Yes I did, took tapes out on the one in picture where you can see that huge gap around it, sits as far as it goes.

then it's not a tape issue.

Nice!
You going to accent them? Makes the head more noticeable imo

My truck is Black Forest green pearl ( basically black lol ). Not sure accenting it would look good. If my truck was white, red, grey etc then maybe.
