My friend passed away last year and I’m helping his wife sell his 2009 Ram Big Horn 2500. I’m looking for advice from Ram enthusiasts on the best place to list for sale. This forum requires 50 posts before you can list.

Welcome to RamForum. You can post your For Sale items here, https://www.ramforum.com/forums/for-sale.21/ but please read the Rules up at the top of the page. You won't be able to list items there until you have some more posts on your profile.

As far as where else to post, you might try CarGurus or Autotrader. If those don't work, you could always go the craigslist or ebay route too.

I’ve done CL and FB Marketplace. CL seems dead these days. I’ve received 0 responses from it. I’ve had decent interest through FB marketplace. I’m interested in posting in here because it targets enthusiasts.

Why not try the dealer?

Friend of mine took his 2009 2500 Big Horn 4x4 in for service out in CA and they were ready to offer him $25K for it. Could be that he just turned 110K miles on it but I think it's still worth a visit.

I tried selling Ram parts on Craigslist down here in El Cajon

One person just wanted my rear bumper, it was a brand new take off. He just needed a bumper with all the hardware, i told him to go down to Otay Mesa & save a fortune

Another guy responded, from up in LA somewhere, he wanted everything, but wanted me to pay shipping, had to turn him down.

Those were the only 2 responses & believe me, the parts were going a real good price.

A friend told me to try selling on Offer Up or Facebook Marketplace
I have not got around to trying them

Other places are Cars.com
AutoTrader. ...
  • eBay Motors. ...
  • Hemmings. ...
  • Facebook Marketplace. ...
  • CarGurus. ...
  • TrueCar. ...
  • Craigslist.
I wonder if there are any Consignment places up your way

+1 on trying a dealership if it is not deleted. Normally I would not say that but these are not normal times. They are paying stupid prices for used trucks.

The other suggestion is try vroom.com. I sold a 2003 F250 with 140K miles on it to them for $8000 a few years back. It was quite painless. Sent the required photo to them through their website and had an offer in 24 hours. They sent me the paperwork via FedEx and a flat bed came a few days later to pick up the truck.

Agreed with trying a few dealers, especially with a Cummins powered truck. If it has decent miles and is not modded, you may have better luck there than you think.

I just recently sold my 1yr old 2020 jeep Cherokee back to the dealer with 2700. Miles on it. Was sitting due to the pandemic/working remotely. I was treated very fairly. They paid more than carmax and carvana.

Truck looks nice. If it's rust free and has decent miles it may be worth more than you think these days. Good luck
