Just picked up my 2500 Cummins with 'black appearance pack' and its very nice. Black doesn't extend to the wheel lugs however and I'd like to fix that. I have seen Colorlugs which are vinyl tubes you shove over the existing lugs. They are cheap but some reports say they are hard to get off and, when you do, they don't go back on again. Some people who have bought black coated lugs off Amazon say they look lovely until you put them on and the socket chips them.

Has anyone had experience that they're happy with?

I've not had any luck at all with painted lugs. Powdercoated lugs seem to hold up better but they will also wear under the guns of the tire shops. Anodized lugs seem the best bet but they are expensive and will still scar from socket wear.

Some folks get those socket inserts that protect painted lugs as they do their own rotations, flat changes, etc...

The vinyl tubes work but you better have some spares ready as, as you said, once they come off they don't go back on. Also over time they harden, crack then fall off.

Good luck!

Oh, and you'll probably want to update your forum profile to reflect your new truck specs.

I've always used and liked Gorilla lug nuts. They've held up over the years/rotations but as previously stated, they will show some battle scars. That never bothered me because you really don't see them unless you're looking for them.

I just put ProComp lugs on yesterday and it looks much nicer.
I've gotta change out that center cap yet.

Let us know what you go with. I've been thinking about this for awhile.
