Being in love with the views of muted apeal, and also being prior service, I am really captavated by this style of murdering out of black vehicles. Here is the begining of some questions.
1. if i go p/d on the factory rims, is the recomended paint method to completly remove tire rim and everything, or just the take the whole wheel off and tape around the tire?
2. what is the best and easiest way to paint the factory chrome grill and bezel.
3.what all decals can be removed from the truck with out leaving holes in the body?

Painting the rims you can leave them mounted. A trick that I've seen a lot on here is to use a deck of cards. Stick the cards in between the wheel and tires.

The grill, lightly sand it, just enough to give the paint something to stick to. Then prime and paint and clear coat.

All of them can be removed except for the ram badge on the grill and tail gate without having holes.

Thank you for the reply, oh i have another question.

If im doing the step ups with the plastic dip, can i avoid the clear coat all together or does the clear add any extra life to the paint.

Not sure I understand that question. But don't use a normal clear coat on plastidip. It'll screw it up.

Also, since you have an 08 ALL of the badges can be removed except for the one on the front grille. The holes in the tail gate didn't start until 09s.

I just read in another post of yours that you have the brushed aluminum rims? Why not powder coat em? That's what I did on my blacked out 08.

If i do the powder coated, how much will that set me back? If it is horrible expensive would I not come out better going with a replacement rim? I was looking on line and found a set of the SRT style rims that were 20x9 for 700.00 plus shipping

I had a place quote me $50 per wheel to powder coat. I like the simple 5 spoke design of the OEM wheels, but I traded the truck before I did it.

looked around for the powder coat option, and found an option for a matte black, but then the decision was made to lower it so now the rims are on hold for now! errrrrr.
