Blower speed 2 not working

I have a 2010 Sport with the manual dials for the HVAC controls.
Today it started to act up.

The 2nd blower speed is dead. A/C and Blower shut off when I go to the second speed.

I was thinking it could possibly be the HVAC control or the blower motor resistor, but in my experience when a resistor fails you only have off or full.

Speed's 1. 3, and 4 still work in this case and the AC light comes back on when I move to these settings.

Im thinking my HVAC control pancel might have a dead spot. Anyone else experience this?

It was the resistor.

Replaced the resistor on my -09 today..two screws under the lower glowbox...

Extremly simple to do..

Had the same problem with my Sunfire. Only speeds 1 and 4 worked- resistor was replaced and voila.

Had the same problem last week with my 2012 RAM Express. New Blower Motor Resistor from Amazon ($16), 2 screws and one wire plug under the glove compartment, and all is working again.
