New to this forum so sorry if this has been discussed.
I bought some wiring harness off eBay the 7 speed module and the resistor. Sourced the floor console bezel with auto dual climate controls.
I know those won’t work from research I’ve done it all says driver side will still work.
My question is I have the android head unit and everything worked fine with 4 speed fan and once I swapped out the 7 speed harness and the 4-7 speed harness adapter and the module and resistor put it all back. The controls light up. But do not work. The hazard button works but nothing else. And now the newer aux panel tow/haul do not work.
Is there a way to do the 4 to 7 speed hvac upgrade with out the own 8.4 screen.
Can I just use the android carplay head unit instead?
Why wouldn’t hvac controls/ volume button work if there lighting up?
If I re plug in the own aux panel (tow/haul, and traction) It works and they light up. But I plug in the newer one (with heated seat functions and vented functions) nothing works.
Please any help. I’m at a total loss on ideas

Your post is a bit of a wander around. I would recommend you out your 4 speed HVAC gear back on and see if that gets things working.

I upgraded my 2018 to the 8.4 and while the onscreen displayed detail shows, for example, the heat being turned up when I turn my dial I cannot control heat or fan speed on the screen. It takes additional hardware that I just don't want to do and frankly I really dislike using screens to control anything.

There are threads about upgrading, suggest you read them. No idea where you bought your equipment for upgrade equipment but if it is possible to do what you want, you can buy the correct parts from @Mpgrimm2 at his vendor thread M²Mods. You can PM him, but don't expect him to walk through your issues with someone else's hardware. I recommend you buy what you need from him and he will support you all the way.

Replied you you Message/ email sent from submitted M2Mods form. Some of this will depend on exactly what Amazon/eBay 10" Android tablet radio you picked up and what it was intended to be installed in?

Well see what's what and hopefully get them sorted.

Apparently a lot of those cheap Amazon/eBay conversion harnesses are junk ... I've seen a several people have to get replacements from me to get things working correctly.
