Intermittent blower motor failure on my 2015 Ram 1500.

Replaced fuse after finding it was charred on one terminal. Wiring under TIPM is intact, clean and shows no signs of overheating, melting or otherwise anything that would interfere with operation.

My truck does NOT have a separate resistor for the blower motor, and so I’m stuck trying to figure out why it turns off after doing something as simple as going through a car wash.

Of course I’ve tried AI, whose response was this:

What Option 2 Actually Does

Right now:
TIPM → directly powers blower motor
(TIPM internal driver carries ~20–30 amps)

With the bypass:

TIPM → only triggers relay (~0.2 amps)
Relay → sends battery power directly to blower

So:

✔ TIPM no longer overheats
✔ No internal dropout
✔ Blower becomes rock solid
✔ HVAC still works normally

This is why it works.

You’re basically installing a helper relay.

Parts Needed (cheap)

All standard auto parts store stuff:

✅ 30/40 amp automotive relay (Bosch-style, 5 pin or 4 pin)
✅ Relay socket with pigtails (recommended)
✅ Inline fuse holder + 30A fuse
✅ 12ga wire (red)
✅ 14–16ga wire (trigger)
✅ Ring terminal
✅ Butt connectors / heat shrink

Total cost: ~$20–$35

——-

That being said, I have no effing idea what some of those things are or mean and how to do this.

ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated.
