Looks awesome!!! What type of clear did you use?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The epoxy, base and clear were all budget line of ppg "shop line". I've used it a few times before and had good results. Obviously not AS high a quality as more pricey paint lines...BUT also not as expensive. The only "issues" I've had with this line in the past is the base doesn't seem to cover as well as some others. I typically like to spray 3 coats of color but for example on the flares I had to spray 4 coats of color to get complete coverage. The clear is very nice though. My biggest complaint with the clear is that you just have to make sure you do really good with your body work because it tightens up a lot when cured and if you cut any corners it will show in the finished product.

I can't believe you did all that work to the headlight without doing a projector retrofit at the same time.

Personally on the fence on how I like the look of the projector headlights. That and the added cost was not in the budget. But if you would be willing to foot the bill I'll gladly do it! Lol

I decided to tint them. However I did not want an extreame tint, just a little darker orange is all. I mixed up my own base clear tint to help control just how dark I wanted them to be. I think they came out great. Depending on the angle of the picture ,they look darker than they actually are in person.

The lights aren't finished yet but this should give you an idea of what it's going to look like. What do you guys think.

Sorry I didn't get around to posting and update everyone. Been busy with alot of other stuff. Today I was finally able to get the headlights installed though. I wasn't sure how I was going to like them but now that I have them installed I kind of dig it!. What do you guys think?

P.S. For those curious, light output appears the same. Driving at night seems no different that with my previous headlight. And no blue tint to the lighting either.

It actually looks brighter orange than they are in person because I took pictures with my flash on . But yes I could have went darker. But I still wanted the functionality of the reflector aswell. After all...What good are painted headlights if someone T-bones because they didn't see reflectors from the side at night lol

Man that's looking really good.

Makes me want to do this with mine...damn I like it a lot!

I toyed with the idea for quite awhile. It wasnt until my buddy bought a set of aftermarket black headlights and gave me his old OEM set that I decided now was the time. Glad I did though!. Walking up on the truck in person it is alot more aggressive looking also.
