I need to replace my steering shaft. Truck steered fantastic for a while after installing the RedHead steering gear, but the wheel picked up slop again that I narrowed down to the shaft.
From what I've gathered, the Borgeson shafts sound great, but I've also encountered a decent bit of not-so-great reviews, mostly concerning general fitment. They cost about the same as an OEM shaft, and I really can't say much about my original one; it did make it 20+ years before it started getting sloppy. Then, there are the Dorman shafts that cost half as much, but in this day and age of "El Cheapo, won't-last-long-o" replacement parts, I'm leery to go this route...
I'm just wondering if anyone has used the Borgeson shafts, if they've had good luck with them, and if they're any real improvement over OEM. Otherwise, I'm leaning towards just going with an OEM replacement...unless the cheaper Dormans are actually decent...
