We're new to the site. 1998 Dodge 2500 with Ergo drop box (i.e.produced as 4x4 but converted to FWD only). Problem has two characteristics. 1. Left brake overheats on short drives to the point of smoking. 2. Truck pulls viciously to right under light to medium braking. Brake real hard and it straightens out a bit. This happens on all road surfaces but is more pronounced on gravel roads -- right wheel locks up whereas left wheel only locks up under heavy braking. This suggests to us that condition is not tire or alignment.
We have overhauled calipers with new pistons and seals, ensuring that calipers move in slides, but all that has not changed anything. We most recently bled at the left front, engine running, and the fluid flowed freely so we don't think that a flex hose is the problem.
Appreciate suggestions.
