I've seen a lot of discussion about backup cameras and blue screen. Here's my situation:

I had a hazy stock backup camera in my 2015 Ram 1500 Express and you could see that moisture had penetrated the lens. I went down to the dealer, bought a brand new backup camera, installed it, and all I have is a blue screen.

Any advice? Bad camera, right out of the box?

A blue screen means there’s no signal coming from the camera.

Add some dielectric grease to the connections and the issue should be fixed.

On the off-chance you ever get to North Dakota, or I ever come to visit my sister in Wichita Falls, I owe you a beer, Sandevino. Took it apart after work today, added a little dialectric grease and boom, my new backup camera is working.

Here's the before.

When I took the old camera out, you could see where moisture had penetrated the lens all around the edge.

Here's the new camera for comparison.

Maybe you guys can help me, I have a 2018 Ram Tradesman with the back up camera in the rear view mirror. What type of radio do I need to switch it to the radio with a larger screen? Thanks

I know the 8.4 UAS and UAQ would have the capability. I just added a UAS to my 2018 Tradesman and have the video in my rearview mirror also. Now in reverse my radio screen is blue, I am not sure if there is a way to split the feed so that image appears in both places or not.

Do you have the part number for just the cam? also which plug did you add the grease to?
