So I'm having my spindle lift/rear spacers installed tomorrow and can't decide on which tires I should buy. I'm definitely doing 295/65/20's on my factory wheels but, I'm torn between the Trail Grapplers, Cooper STT PRO's or Toyo Open Country AT 2's...

Of course the MT's have the more aggressive look but I've heard nothing but great things about the Toyo's and they actually look pretty good. Plus they'll probably last longer and give a little better ride.

What are your thoughts guys? Anyone using these tires have some input after running them for a while? Thanks!

I've had the nitto trail grapplers on for about 3 years and 25,000 miles and they're just under half tread. I love the look of them and they ride pretty good for a high load range. The road noise is minimal to for being a mt. Just after rotations is when they're loud and it's still not that bad.

I just went Coopers on my Jeep, after getting less than 20,000 miles out of a set of Shi... I mean, Nittos. I wouldn't use those again for a tire SWING! :puke:

I had a set of terra grapplers on my old truck and didn't have any issues. They just don't look aggressive at all....

Anyone running the Toyo AT 2's?

I ended up buying BFG All Terrain T/A KO2's in 285 65 R20 after waiting MONTHS for backordered Toyos in the same size. I couldn't be happier with them, kinda glad the toyos never showed. Highly recommend this tire, great traction all around incl snow, not loud at all, and they seem to be wearing very well. This size is the same Diameter as a 35, but at 11.5 wide there's no need to run spacers with stocker wheels, and they are even with the fenders width wise so I can keep my paint.

They, like the Toyos, have the chunky sidewall to give them the aggressive look of an M/T, even more so than the Toyo.

Thanks Saselker, I liked the KO2's but they don't make them in the size I want. I'll be purchasing a set of 295/65/20's, which are almost a full inch taller than the 285's. So it really limits my options, which is ok. Just looking for input on the choices I have in that size. I could've gone with a 35x12.5 but I don't want any rubbing issues or spacers.

Is truck leveled or stock height?

Had the same problem waiting on the Toyo's, did the same/feel the same. Tires are doing well, no complaints so far. Nearing 12k miles.

Oh ya, OP, my vote is for the Coopers. Kinda wish they were available about 2 months earlier, would be on my truck now.

All 3 are good choices but I'ed go for the Cooper stt pro 295/65r20 (only 11.70 wide/35.43" tall). I'll be buying them when I do my bilstein level on stock sport 20's.
