Canvas toppers

Anyone have any experience with a canvas topper. Considering one for my 16 CC 5.7" box. Hard shells are expensive and truth be told I really don't want one, but with 2 large dogs it would be nice to keep them in the box especially during spring/fall mud season. Would also li,e it to be easily removable or fold down so I can use the bed if needed.

I live in the Ontario snow belt so must be able to with stand the winter.

Soft topper or best tops are brands I'm looking at. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Softopper is the way to go. It works great to keep the weather out as far as snow and rain, easy to remove in about 5 minutes, or you can fold it up to the front and put it in a protective bag. Easy to get replacement panels of something happens. They sell screen panels for front and back as well. I also think it fits the cab better than the besttop one does. Super tough and durable.

Friend of mine has one in Colorado and it has stood up to their heavy snowfall just fine, hell they are made in Boulder Colorado!

I was in the same position as you, and I have loved having this top, my dog does great back there and it’s warm enough for her in the winter and with the screen panels it’s cool enough in the summer here in New Mexico.

Thank for the review. Softopper is definitely my first choice, but I'm having g a hard time finding a dealer in Ontario. I have a few places looking into it but haven't heard anything back yet.

I found a couple places that sell best tops but no listing for a ram with a 5.7" box! Wtf? The guy looked up a furd short box and theyre available.

The search continues i guess.

Go direct with Softopper on their website. He’ll give them a call, real live humans answer the phone, and you can understand them. They are great, and shipping is cheap, at least here in the states. Not sure how much the over the border fee would nail you, but worth a shot.

Oh the only thing I have that kinda sucks is the UV here in NM at 4000 ft and up has sort of discolored the plastic windows, but that isn’t the tops fault or Softoppers fault.
