I'm looking at installing new catalytic. I have direct fit now but want to go with a magnaflow universal. How do I put it in with a direct fit connection

I think your gonna have to weld those in bro. Those are aftermarket " high flow " cats. If you do some digging. You might be able to find a plug and play setup. But iv looked into those and from what I've found. You have to weld those in place of your OEM ones.

Can I cut off the direct fit and weld to the bolt on connection?

I would imagine you can. As long as you maintain the holes for the up stream and down stream oxygen sensors. Also, I don't know why it would. But I would also do some research to see if those cats work will with our trucks. Sometimes, not all the time. But sometimes, with it being universal. It will set a check engine light. Because the parameters are not within what the computer likes. I'm sure you would be ok. But before you start cutting and welding. Really do your research on these cats. See if any other guys here or other forums have used them.
