Trying to find a good spot out of the way to mount my cb radio in my truck. Any suggestions or pics will be helpful. Trying to get it out of the jeep so I can sell it. Thanks.

I cant remember what the 06+ looks like in this spot but this is where I have mine, and I normally just have the mic sitting in between my seat and the middle so I can access it easy. I had it on with velcro before so I could take it off easily but it seemed like everytime it got above 100 degrees the sticky glue side of the velcro would come off so I have it screwed in now. Its the perfect spot imo

I have a cup holder that goes across there. Thought about taking it out but don't want the voided space and then no cup holders.

My friend keeps trying to talk me into getting a CB, just out of curiosity is it possible to mount it user the front seat? Never used a CB before so I'm not sure how often you need the controls but if you can just ind the channels you want and just know where the on/off switch is it would be pretty convient? Or am I completely mistaken?

I got a piece of flat stock, wide enough to cover the 2 bolts holding the center seat to the floor. I bent to a 90, cut out the holes for the 2 bolts, and cut so that the portion sticking up in front of the center seat was just wide enough to mount the CB bracket to. I've had it in there for a few years and no problems.

As a former over the road driver I use mine all the time in the Ram. Out in the woods in Ocala and on every trip to and from work, to the family, to anywhere. I'm working on a few different antenna mounts to find out what works best for me short of drilling in the top. New CB in the shop right now getting upgraded finals, peak & tune. Should hit somewhere around 80 watts with no linear.

Convenience is in the user. If you're only going to use it out in the woods I'd get Cobra's remote mount, think it is the 75 something something. If you want the best radio out of the box you can't beat a Galaxy. (get an import and have it set up for CB) Mount the radio where it won't be in your way, even running mine as much as I do I'm not switching channels a lot and only in a few instances do I need to hit a dial.

My friend might have one that he could give me. Not sure what kind it is. Might be older, but I think it comes with the shorter antenna that can be mounted in the bed.

I appreciate it guys. I have thought about a couple of other places, but I don't want to start drilling and having holes everywhere. I've thought about under the steering wheel (above the hood handle) or changing out the cup holders to the floor like on the 2500 and just use that open space.
