At freeway speeds, sounds like the engine is cutting out cylinders. Its not that type of engine. The CEL came on and the truck seemed to be stuck in 3rd gear. some say it might be the speed sensor, in not sure. any help would be great.

Is it actually cutting out cylinders or just bucking?

Sounds like a tune up is needed. And possibly the trans solenoid.

You say it's not that type of engine. But it's a 2006 5.7l hemi. All of those years hemi came with MDS to cut out the cylinders didn't they? Maybe that isn't a symptom of the cel?
