Changing out computer

I hope I'm posting this in the right place but I have a question. Can you install a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi computer in a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi and it worked with your VIN number? People tell me to get a 2005 computer and it's better so will this work or not? Thanks
