Title pretty much says it. I get a clicking noise while turning the wheel but only when the turn signal is being used. It only clicks when the wheel is turned a specific amount and I'm not talking about when the turn signal stalk automatically returns to the neutral position after the turn is complete.

For example, if I'm making a left at an intersection, I'll get a single "click" while making the left turn through the intersection. Then, of course I get the normal noise of the turn signal stalk "snapping" back to the original spot.

Is this normal? It sounds like something is wrong with the internal mechanism of the signal.

That’s normal. It’s the clockspring detent so your signal will self cancel. If you turn your turn signal on and turn the wheel before the click then straighten out your signal won’t self cancel

Exactly. Its just rotating the detent past the little plastic trip switch on the stalk unit.
The whole unit is just plastic and flexes horribly. Mine stop cancelling right turn signals when coming back to center. Took it apart, lubed everything, even added a screw where there was a design for a screw. Kinda fixed it, cancels 90% of the time now. I bought a replacement anyways....it is horribly cheaply made.

Thanks! I figured it was just a normal noise, but it just seems a little loud. Maybe I'll lube it up like you did to see if that quiets things down.

The clock spring isn't exactly a part that can be lubricated. It's sealed inside of a plastic unit. You also have to remove the steering wheel and airbag to get to it. You're fine, like mentioned, the noise is normal.
