Hey guys, new ram owner.

So when the trucks cold, first start in the morning you turn the key it starts up and then shuts right off. If you turn key again within like 3 seconds of it shutting off it’ll start again no issues. The guy I bought it from says that it’s a sensor that needs to be replaced. Anyone here know what the sensor could be? The guy said it’s something to do with a sensor that measures how much fuel gets spit out upon starting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've never heard of any such sensor.

But I've heard of that issue happening before. Sometimes when there is a canbus communications issue and the PCM/RF Hub security code handshake doesn't happen due to canbus network issue.

Have you already scanned your truck for any stored codes? I don't mean with an OBD code reader, but a real scan tool. You might need to drop by an auto shop to have it done, or maybe the likes of Auto Zone or O'Reilly's can do it for you. It needs to be a scan tool capable of scanning the BCM, RF Hub, etc.
