Converting to 4x4

Used to live in FL, now in MO and need 4x4. Have great running low mile 2001 1500 2 wheel drive, have a chance to buy a 97 4x4 with no motor for 500. Are there any frame differences ect that would make this more work than it would be worth to convert the 2001 over to 4x4? I know I could trade it in for a 4x4, but its paid off and around my neck of the woods, 2 wheel drives are pretty much worthless.

The only easy route is to swap your motor into the 97.

Converting a 2wd Ram to a 4wd Ram is a huge undertaking. To answer your question, no, the frames are not the same.
